Keith Gill
Keith Gill, AKA Roaring Kitty, AKA DeepFuckingValue
- Roaring Kitty (or RK), also known as DeepFuckingValue (or DFV), real name Keith Gill, is an individual who originally invested in GME call options starting in 2019, eventually growing their position and accumulating shares
- Keith Gill played a significant role in bringing attention to GME on social media
- September 8, 2019: Keith Gill posted on Reddit for the first time as DeepFuckingValue, with GME call options valued at $100 thousand.
- Roaring Kitty began to gain popularity on social media in 2020 for his contrarian but bold GME position
- As investors joined in and bought GME, eventually the share price of GME started to rise dramatically, which drew more attention, which caused more buying, until the eventual January 2021 sneeze
- For this, Keith Gill was questioned by the U.S. House Committee on Financial Services for his involvement
- The movie Dumb Money (2023) provides a dramatized version of that story
- Roaring Kitty / DeepFuckingValue disappeared from social media in 2021
- Roaring Kitty / DeepFuckingValue returned 3 years later in 2024 during a period of peculiar GME price action, showing a substantially increased position of GME shares and call options, valued at several hundred million dollars
As for me, I like the stock. I’m as bullish as I’ve ever been on a potential turnaround for GameStop, and I remain invested in the company.
In 2021, Keith Gill was well known and celebrated among retail GME shareholders. Eventually, Keith Gill disappeared from social media from 2021 to 2024.
During that period of time, it was not known where Keith Gill went, or whether or not he even had a continued interest in GME stock. Critics of GME would sometimes claim that Keith Gill sold his shares, and therefore no longer had any continued interest in GME.
Then in 2024, Keith Gill returned to social media during the burp, showing a significantly increased GME position. This demonstrates that those who doubted Keith Gill's continued interest in that period of time from 2021 to 2024 had been making baseless claims.
The latest evidence that explicitly showed Keith Gill's continued interest in GME was from June 13, 2024. It is therefore unknown whether or not he continues to hold shares of GME.
